Saving Abel balance the future and the past at Wyandotte show

American rock band Saving Abel made a stop in Wyandotte at District 142 last Wednesday, July 5th.

The band is gearing up for the release of their fifth album later this year that features current single "Baptize Me" and will feature their forthcoming single "Fire," which is out July 28th.

Both tracks were in Wednesday's setlist along with another new song "World Just Burning."

The trio serve as an exciting preview to the band's first album back with original vocalist Jared Weeks who departed the band in 2013 and returned in late 2021.

The reunited lineup hit the road for some dates last year before hitting the studio to work on the new album, which will chronicle Weeks' journey back as he battled addiction and mental health issues, went through a recovery and rediscovered his love of music while becoming the best father and husband that he could be.

Having found the balance and peace that he needed in his life, it's clear that Weeks is having a blast back out on stage and is excited to share the new music as well as revisit some of the band's biggest hits like "Miss America," "18 Days" and "Drowning (Face Down)."

After exiting the stage, the band returned to perform an encore of the popular "Addicted" to the delight of the enthusiastic crowd.

Wednesday's show was opened by Coldville and The Lion Within, who both provided high energy sets that got the crowd warmed up.
