Martina McBride shines at Homecoming

Martina McBride brought the house down at the 45th annual Dearborn Homecoming in Ford Field Park on Saturday night and was a great lead-in to the evening fireworks.
The country music star ran through 17 songs during her hour and 15-minute set that spanned her entire career and included nods to some of her favorite female singers.
She opened the show with the jubilant “My Baby Loves Me” before sliding into the emphatic “Safe in the Arms of Love,” quickly proving her impressive vocal range.
Her powerhouse voice, tight backing band and nostalgic set list had the crowd singing and clapping along all night.
She took some time to talk about country icon Loretta Lynn before performing Lynn's “You Ain’t Woman Enough (to Take My Man).”
Set highlights included the popular “Blessed,” “Wild Angels” and “This One’s for the Girls.”
She closed the set with a emotional wallop of “A Broken Wing” and her signature “Independence Day.”
McBride returned to the stage for a encore of “Happy Girl” and an impressive cover of Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot.”
