Beast in Black wrap up headlining run in Detroit

Beast in Black wrapped up their first North American headlining run on Monday night when they rolled into Detroit's El Club with a fiery set filled with fan favorites that had everyone, dancing, jumping and loudly singing along.

Tour openers Striker had to pull out of the last few dates because of a positive COVID test so Beast In Black hit the stage a bit earlier to the delight of the eager crowd.

They kicked things off with a power-packed trio of "Blade Runner," "From Hell with Love" and "Beast In Black."

Mixed in with some of their biggest tracks from throughout their catalog were a number of new tracks from their 2021 album Dark Connection.

The Finnish-Greek-Hungarian heavy metal band has an interesting mix of heavy metal, power metal and arena rock that translates well live and on Monday the band's clear joy at being able to play in front of the North America crowds was clear throughout their set.

Frontman Yannis Papadopoulos kept the crowd entertained throughout as he laughed, joked and shared some stories behind the tracks and the band's chemistry and talent kept the crowd mesmerized.

Set highlights included a passionate "Sweet True Lies" and the striking "One Night in Tokyo." You can check out some video footage here.

Beast in Black went on to wrap things up with "Blind and Frozen" and "End of the World" as they promised that now that they'd finally gotten over here, they would definitely be back.

Yesterday, the band caught up with Finnish symphonic metal mainstays Nightwish in Toronto for a ten-date stand opening up for them before heading back overseas for some Summer festival dates.
