The Broadway sensation Wicked, that tells the untold story behind The Wizard of Oz has made its return to the stage at the Detroit Opera House.

The musical looks at things in the Land of Oz from a different perspective as the tale of the Wicked Witch Elphaba and the Good Witch Glinda unfolds with a sizzling soundtrack, vibrant images and a solid cast who bring the story to life.

Celia Hottenstein, who portrays scene-stealer Glinda and Olivia Valli (a University of Michigan graduate,) who portrays Elphaba have a great rapport and really highlight how vastly different the pair are, but at the heart just how similar they can be.

Their rivalry and friendship is the centerpiece of the show and by the time they belt out "For Good," they've taken the audience on a fantastic journey that culminates in that magical, emotional moment.

Along the way, issues of bullying, ostracism, acceptance, tolerance and totalitarian customs are explored and remain just as prevalent today as they were when the musical debuted twenty years ago.

Wicked runs through February 18th and tickets can be purchased at the Detroit Opera House and Fisher Theatre box office and online at BroadwayinDetroit.com.
