Whitton releases 'Cars Mars'
Acoustic/pop singer/songwriter, Whitton, has released her new track, "Cars Mars," which is off her forthcoming mesmerizing four-song EP, Backwards, which will be out this Fall.
The charming "Cars Mars" is an ode to simpler days with a cinematic feel that perfectly complements Whitton's soft voice, which has been described as a blend of Colbie Caillat, Kimbra and Elizabeth Frazer meets Norah Jones and St. Vincent.
The forthcoming EP, Backwards, is a compelling introspective look at the human condition featuring Whitton's honest perspective hightlighted through her vulnerable lyrics and intimate melodies.
The EP was produced by Alexander Burke (Save Ferris, Ben Lee) and Chris Mullings (The Neighborhood, Weird Al.) It also features collaborations with Tony Bonsera (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy,) Gary Lux (Universal Records,) Robert "Sput" Searlight (Snoop Dogg, Ghost Note) and Jens Gad (Enigma.)
The first three songs, "Cars Mars," "Neverland" and "Backwards," were produced and co-written with musician, Ben Burget.
The ending track, "One More Kiss Dear" from Bladerunner 1982, features iconic actor, Edward James Olmos.
The talented Whitton is not only a musician, but also a foodie, spirits aficionado and co-founder of the award winning 2020 tequila of the year, El Savito, which debuted this Summer.
She grew up surrounded by a musical family as one of six kids and toured nationally as a singer/songwriter at a early age, building her fan base and a close relationship with them through social media, film/tv and commercial featured song placements.
Whitton recently took some time off from touring to care for her grandfather and that time away nurtured a talent for creating healthy meals and inspired her to study and cultivate both non-GMO organic soil and aeroponic tower gardens.
She also has a appreciation for quality wine and spirits, which led to her co-founding the downtown LA first walk-up bar, Prank.
Whitton has won several independent music awards including "Best Female Acoustic Artist" at the NY Music Festival, Searchlight Songwriting Competition, Star Music Awards and has been nominated for "Best Pop Album" in the Independent Music Awards.
