Twiztid pack Saint Andrews for Fright Fest
Detroit’s own Twiztid returned to the Saint Andrews Hall stage for their annual sold out Fright Fest on Friday for Devil's Night.
The hometown duo were closing out their Certified Psychos Tour and also took over the basement Shelter on Thursday night for their Under The Lotus: The Final Act show with Blaze Ya Dead Homie and Anybody Killa plus special guests Insane E and Bake Lo.
Friday’s Fright Fest show has become an annual Detroit tradition that originally began back in 2003 in Denver.
Rock band Kaleido opened the show with their fierce mix of rock, metal, alternative, punk and pop.
They were followed by a hard-hitting set from rapper The R.O.C. and then a vibing set from ABK, whose brand of “spiritual rap” always gets the crowd moving.
Blaze was the final opener and he brought a mix of some his staples like “Shotgun” and “Nasty” alongside newer tracks like “X’s On Eyes,” from his latest album Dead Serious.
He closed with crowd fave “Escape Artist.”
Twiztid then kicked off their set with their Halloween classic “Green Pumpkinz.”
The Demented Duo of Madrox and Monoxide moved through nearly three decades of music including early classics “2nd Hand Smoke,” “Diemuthaf*ckadie,” and “We Don’t Die.”
They also pulled out their new cover of Papa Roach's “Getting Away With Murder.”
They had drummer Dan Fox join them mid-set for a number of their heavier more rock-driven tracks like “Rose Petal,” and R.O.C. came out for a dose of House of Krayzees with “MurderX3.”
Blaze returned to the stage for “Maniac Killa” before ABK joined them for “Kill Em Better” from their Certified Psycho album.
Twiztid then closed out the evening with their signature “Rock the Dead.”
